Sentosa Singapore

Singapore is the most famous tourist place of the world. Its tourism industry experiences the visit of millions of tourists every year. There are many reasons for why Singapore is the most favourite place of millions of tourists. Some of them are listed below:

There are so many places to visit in Singapore. The most important among all is the Sentosa Island. It is the first place every tourists visits when they reach Singapore.

Sentosa Island:

The world Sentosa in Malay means ‘Peace’. It is the most popular resort in Singapore. The number of tourists who visit Sentosa is more than 20 million. It is not far from the main city. The transport facility is very efficient to reach Sentosa.  You can go through a bus or a cable car. In 2015, the cable car facility was introduced for the first time. It is also accessible by Sentosa Express. There are many places to visit in Sentosa itself. Some of the major places of Sentosa are described below briefly:

● Resort world Sentosa:

It is a big resort present on the Sentosa Island. It covers most of the portion of Sentosa. The places in Resort World Sentosa where you must visit are:

→ S.E.A: It is an Aquarium and is the world’s largest Aquarium. It is situated in Resort World Sentosa and is in the shape of tunnel. It is very attractive and is visited by everyone.

→ Universal Studios: It is actually a theme park based on many hollywood movies or characters. It is divided into levels.

● Fort Siloso:

This fort is actually a military museum and is open to public. It contains the artillery from the past battles of Singapore. There are surrender chambers in Fort Siloso which were not open to general public but have now been opened.

● Merlion:

The Merlion is very famous in Singapore and compliments the name of the country. It is a statue which has the head of a lion and body of a fish. It represents the oldest mythology of Singapore. This Merlion is also used by the Singapore tourism board as their Symbol.

● Sentosa 4D Adventureland:

It is Southeastern Asia’s first 4-dimensional theatre. It was opened for the first time in January 2006.

● Wave House Sentosa:

It is situated on the Siloso beach. It consists of a double flowrider and a 10 feet flowbarrel. It is Singapore’s first artificial barreling wave.

● Beaches:

The beaches situated in Sentosa stretch for more than 2 kms. There are three major beaches in Sentosa. These are:

1- Palawan Beach: It lies in the centre of Sentosa. There are several bars and eating outs on the beach which serve the traditional dishes of Singapore.

2- Siloso Beach: It lies on the western side of Sentosa. It is very popular for the volleyball tournaments held there. It is basically well constructed for adventure sports.

3- Tanjong Beach: It is situated along the eastern coast of Sentosa. It is a crescent-shaped beach and is used for special events and parties. It is booked to have parties. The main attraction on Tanjong Beach is the Tanjong Beach Club.

● Hotels: 

There are a number of hotels present in Sentosa. To give a number, Almost 20 luxurious hotels are present in Sentosa for the tourists to stay at the island.

So, all these wonderful places and all the things to do make Sentosa the major tourist attraction. The first place a tourist goes is the Sentosa Island. Thus, a visit to Sentosa must be on the top of your trip.
