Chinatown:

Chinese are the most largest ethnic group in Singapore. Less of an enclave is chinatown. Chinatown is bounded by many popular streets such as South bridge road,  Eu Tong Sen St and new bridge road. It is energetic gazetted and vivid conservation. Lunar New Year is the best time to visit the chinatown which is usually in January and February. Largest section of the chinatown town is considered ars the national heritage section which is operated under the Urban Redevelopment Authority. Chinatown heritage Centre consist around 3 shophouses in this town which are located at pagoda street. Chinatown consists mainly 4 section which are developed sub areas of chinatown:

● Kreta Ayer

● Bukit Ayer

● Tanjong Ayer

At Smith Street,  CHINATOWN COMPLEX  is located, this is best place for shopping and it is popular complex because of the theatre street present here. For shopping we can visit many of the streets like:

● Smith street is popular for food street. 

● Pagoda street is popular for Sri Mariamman temple and much more items. 

● Teo Hong Road,  here we can visit 3 storey shophouse. 

● Trengganu street,  this street has been converted to  Pedestrian mall with large variety of shops around the both sides of road. In dark it is best night market. 

Chinatown street market is the busiest market, here we can see hundreds of stalls and outlets. Here we can see more number of ‘Made in China’ goods. This street is located at the Pagoda street. The relic’s of chinatown past are dingy alleys, street hawkers and cramped 5 foot ways. We can experience the electrical vibes on the Ann siang road and Club street. Chinatown Point is the most visited mall and here you can find large variety of goods, clothes,  art and craft. It also have 25 storey office tower. Chinatown is so much prominent landmark. There are many places in Chinatown where you can shop many things. Some places are given below:

 

1. Chinatown Complex:

Chinatown is a place housing many markets, food centres and smaller shops. It is specially known for its shopping choices and food.

2. Chinatown point:

Address: 133 New Bridge Road, Singapore.

Chinatown point is constructed according to the most modern architecture is a six level building having more than 200 shops. The major attraction of this place is the Handicraft Centre.

3. Chinatown Street Stalls:

It is one of the fastest ways for you to make yourself familiar with Chinatown. Its provides you the walking tour of shops. Here you can shop for yourself many things like clothes, chinese silk, art works, home decorations, etc.

4. China Square Central Flea Market:

Address: 18 Cross Street, China Square Central, Singapore.

During the whole week, China Square does not really stand out but on Sundays, this places comes to life and this is the place you should be on a Sunday. Early morning on Sunday, the stalls are set up in this air conditioned mall and there is a big sale on every item. It is a flea market that brings a lot of tourists to this place on sundays. You can buy from this flea market many things like antiques at a very low price. It gives you a different experience of shopping in Singapore.
